Despite being born in Central London (1938) I have always, from a very early age, had an interest in natural history. I studied photography at the London School of Printing and Graphic Art and eventually had my own studio specialising in advertising and editorial photography – I only wish digital photography had been available then! My wildlife work acted as a nice contrast to my commercial photography, which subsidised trips to Scandinavia, Europe and several African countries. Since retiring from ‘the London scene’ and my commercial work in 1991 I have added North and South America and Canada to the list. I am mainly interested in birds but also cover other aspects of natural history.
